Silicones have what is called a silent rupture and is detected by an MRI. It is necessary to have an MRI every couple of years in order to catch this rupture and gets expensive over the years. Breast implants can, but, potentially interfere with mammograms, self examinations, and nursing, so you need to be sure you are educated on how these health issues will affect you. Special instructions are available for mammograms and self exams with implants. Also, if you reckon you may breast feed in the future, certain surgical precautions can be taken with implantation.
